Catch-all inflation was cited (33%) as the biggest financial stressor heading into 2023,” said Andre MurraySenior Content Data Researcher at GOBankingRates.

“2022 has also seen its share of policies intended to curb the rising inflationlike the Fed raising interest rates, which 35% of Americans say has had no impact on them, while a fifth of Americans (20%) say they have accumulated more credit card debt due to rate hikes,” Murray added.

“2022 as a whole has been quite a difficult year for Americans, with 68% saying they had to postpone a big purchase until 2022 due to a tight economy,” Murray said. “When asked what they would most like to see happen in 2023, more than a third of Americans (38%) chose a substantial drop in inflation.”
